Mommy's proud moments with me..

@ 5 years 1 month 1 week and 4 days old

There were a few proud moments that mommy wanted to remember before she starts forgetting how good I am and always complaint how naughty I am.

Incident 1 - Asking permission when in people's house

We were attending my neighbour 2 years old boy birthday party 2 Saturdays night ago. The children were playing with those push cars in the living hall and I have been wanted to join them. So happened mommy caught up with another mommy and started chatting away. She was so busy chatting and I was standing next to her quietly looking at the children playing for some time. Later she noticed me and told me..

Mommy: Oh..Darren..go and play with the children..
Darren: But mommy..do I need to ask permission from aunty first?
Mommy: (feeling embarassed..I always teach my son to ask permissison before wanting something and now just because I was busy chatting, I have totally forgetten what I have preached to him all the time.) Oh yeah...you must ask permission first. Where is aunty?
Darren: There she is...
Mommy: Ok, go and ask aunty yourself..
Darren: Aunty..aunty..can I play?
Aunty: Oh sure...
Darren: (happily walked off to join the children playing with the push cars)

People around us noticed that and praised me for being so well mannered. As for mommy, she just can't help feeling proud of me.

Incident 2 - Keeping promise

One afternnon after mommy picked me up from school, she told me we are going to have lunch with yi yi SY. We were thinking where to go and suddenly mommy suggested "Pizza Hut". Apparently Pizza Hut is my next reward for behaving well for 5 days. I need to collect 5 stars in order to be able to go Pizza Hut and I only have 1 so far.

Mommy: Do you want to go Pizza Hut?
Darren: (said in surprise tone). But mommy, I don't have 5 STARS yet. I only have 1. I cannot go Pizza Hut.
Mommy: Oh yeah.....(slap my own mouth..how can I be so "linient" bringing him to Pizza Hut without him achieving his target? But I am proud of him that he remember his target and did not take advantage over the offer I gave me. ) Then how?
Darren: Maybe we can go somewhere else.

Anyway, later yiyi SY called and said she wanted to treat me to Pizza Hut and we changed our reward target to "McDonald" instead. Finally we get to eat at Pizza Hut.

Incident 3 - I am known as an "obedient boy" in the park.

Everyone (aunties or uncles) in the park knows that I am an obedient boy and always praise me in front of mommy. They always tell mommy that I am very "teng wah" (obedient boy). Why? Because..

1) The minute I reach the park, I will call all the aunties and uncles that I know in the park before started playing. I can even remember some of their names.

2) When I want to go a bit further or play something else, I will inform mommy or ask her permission before I go ahead.

3) I am also very loving towards the younger children in the park. I will approach some babies or toddlers and touch their hands/face.

4) When mommy tells me we have to go home in another 5 minutes time, I will reply mommy with an "ok" without negotiation. When time is up, I will bid goodbye to all my friends and aunties/uncles and follow mommy go home willingly. (This is the time the aunties always praise me that I listen to mommy and never fuss to stay longer, unlike other children).

Mommy is so proud of my obedience in the public.

Incident 4 - I am such a loving/caring boy.

Isabel was playing with mommy's handphone and she dropped mommy's hp on the floor and the paint at the phone chip off a little bit. Mommy was quite upset. I walked up to mommy and told her..

Darren: Mommy, next time when I am big, I will buy you a handphone. The handphone drop also cannot spoil one, the paint won't come out one. Then, is touch screen one also, like iphone, ok?? I will sure buy one for you. You don't upset ok??

Mommy's heart melted after hearing what I said. I just love mommy so much.

Another incident that demonstrated my loving side for daddy..

Last Sunday daddy promised to bring me to Digital Mall and buy me a handphone pouch. I have been wanting this pouch for a long long time. We went to Subang Parade and had lunch with my other aunties..then after lunch, we were heading home. I asked daddy,

Darren: Daddy, how about my handphone pouch?
Mommy: Darren, Daddy twisted his neck and he is in pain. We need to go home first and let daddy rest. When daddy is feeling better, then only we go out again, ok? (I was preparing for a protest from him since he has been looking forward to get his pouch).
Darren: Oh..Ok...no problem. Daddy go home and rest first ok?

Mommy was so proud of my understanding and did not protest once. When we reached home, I even napped next to daddy, because I wanted to take care of daddy and hug him, so that he will recover faster.

Mommy said..she is so lucky to have such an obedient and loving child. Of course I am...
