Sick..sick...

Darren fell sick for the first time in this year. He was having some mild cough yesterday and I already warned him no cold water, chocolates or ice-cream. I was hoping his cough will not turn worse.

This morning at 7am, I came out from the toilet and touched him, oh..his forehead was warm. Took his temperature and confirmed he has fever - 38.1. Not too high..but he was coughing on and off the whole night. I could not really sleep after that.

Until this morning 9.00am, washed him up and changed him, brought him to see his usual pediatrician. Overall, the doctor said it could be just the begining of the virus infection. His throat has slight redness over here and there. Nothing much we can do except let his body to fight.

He has no appetite. Looked tired...didn't want anything. Kept complaining nauseas and stomach ache. I have to convince him to take half of a home made pumpkin bun with butter. Made some manuka honey + lemon juice. Popped him with vitamin C, multivitamins and exberitox. Took ventolin. Put the cooling gel on his forehead.

Later in the afternoon, I went to chinese medical hall to buy him "ling young" and 2 packets of "nam hang, pak hang, kat beng" and boil for him. When I came home, still feel he is hot and his temp was 38.3. While boiling the "ling yong" water, I gave him a doze of paracetamol. Prepare porridge as his lunch but the bowl of porridge is sitting on the table here untouched. He didn't want to eat...sigh...

He has just gained some weight..can see his chubby face but I guess after this round of sickness, he will lose those fats again...

Looking at him sleeping now, I start to miss his active self. This is his 2nd nap today. He must be very tired..I am really not used to him sleeping at this hour. I am separating him from Isabel. So, I am upstairs taking care of him while my helper is taking care of Isabel downstairs. I miss Isabel too.. I miss being with them together...

This Sunday is his school concert. I hope he can get well by then and able to perform on that day. I have been looking forward to this day and can't wait to see my little boy dancing on the stage. I am sure he is looking forward to go far far away and dance on a big stage for us and other parents to see..that's what he told us.... He has been practising hard on the dance also...even at home...
