Darren: Mommy, how can I become a girl?
Mommy: No..you cannot become a girl. You are a boy. You can never be a girl. You are born as a boy.
Darren: Why I am a boy and not a girl?
Mommy: (Thinking hard how to answer in a simple way) Because you get daddy's genes. So, you are like daddy. That's why you are a boy. Like mei mei, she gets mommy's genes, so she is born a girl.
Darren: So, if I get your genes, that I can become a girl?
Mommy: Well..(yes or no?) but now you are already born as boy, you cannot change already. You are already a boy when you are in mommy's stomach.
Darren: How come you don't make me a girl?
Mommy: Mommy cannot decide you are a boy or girl. (Thinking hard how to answer..)The God decides you are a boy or girl.
Darren: Who is the God?
Mommy: (shit...he is getting deeper and deeper)..God is someone great, stay up there in the sky, looking after us and protect us. He decides everything for us.
Darren: I want to be a girl. I want your genes.
Mommy: (getting worried) Why?
Darren: I want to have long hair, then I can tie my hair.
Mommy: Well, boy is also good. Boys also can do a lot of things.

Mommy started worried after thinking back my question. What? Darren wanted to be a girl? Yes...I always like being a girl. I like wearing skirt, I like keeping long hair and put clips and tie my hair, I like putting lipsticks (after concert) on my lips and I always tell mommy that I wanted to be like yi yi SY. Gosh..mommy said please don't scare her...

Yeah, that is also a concern of mine...for Ryan. He has not expressed like what Darren had mentioned...but Ryan is on the wimpy side and is not very sporty.
Perhaps Darren is just on the curious side...??? Try for him to mix more with his boy cousins and do more boy things???
Darren's just curious la i think...coz gibran also asks me once in a while why he's a boy and not a girl..he also asks why boys must marry girls, why boys cant marry boys becoz girls cry so much n they're irritating. Hehe. I think all boys r curious and will ask such questions..esp the really "thinking" and curious ones!
