There were 2 incidents that I would like to record it down for memory sake to remember how "good" is my son..
Though many praised Darren for being a very good, well-mannered, matured, caring, understanding, compassionate and smart boy, there were times I would still scold or nag him for being "not good" enough...I know I shouldn't and I really think he is a boy that I am very proud of..he is really my precious and darling boy. Just take today as an example:
I wanted to take a nap in the room while Isabel was napping. I called him in the room and CASUALLY asked him to do his "homework", not school work but workbooks that I bought for him. I never really thought he would do it because usually he will only do those work "together" with me or with me sitting next to him. I was thinking he would take this opportunity to play the computer or ipad instead.
Very fast I dozed off and he woke me up and asked me how to do this particular page of chinese homework. I was grumpy because I just dozed off and told him in an irriated voice that later only I would teach him. I basically ignored him.
He again woke me up and I felt more frustrated. I can'r remember what he asked me but I shoo him off by raising my voice, "Can't you see mommy is sleeping and mommy is very tired. Can you just let me sleep a little while?" He then walked off..
For the third time he woke me up, I was showing him my even more frustrated and angry look and asked him what he wants? He was actually asking my permission to play the computer. I gave the green light and continue sleeping.
Later when I woke up, he was sitting on the bed next to me playing iPad. I walked past my study table and saw his 4 worksbooks on the table. I noticed he has completed 1 full page of chinese word writing. I then later asked him what else has he completed. After I sent him to Bau Bei, I came back and checked his workbooks and was surprised to find that he actually tried to complete a few pages of each workbooks. Those that he didn't really know how to do, he actually figure it out himself and get it done too.
I was so amazed by his initiative. I felt so touched and felt so bad for myself. I should not have talked to him so rude and frustrated as he was just trying to do his work. Also, though he has all the right to use my laptop, he never misuse his privilage and ALWAYS asked my permission before he used my laptop. I am really proud of him. Even though I was sleeping, he actually woke me up and asked me. He can just use it without asking me and I don't think I will scold him for that.
Darren, you are really a good boy!!
There was another incident that happened few weeks back that I would like to record it down.
I took out Darren's push car one day for Isabel to try. Isabel actually already has a "giraffe" push car bought by hubby not long ago. However, Isabel wanted Darren's push car instead of her "giraffe".
Darren also wanted to play with his push car. But we scolded him and told him that he is too big for the push car. It is not meant for mei mei and not him. Every time he tried to play with it, Isabel will sure come and fight for it and he always ended getting scolding from us. Poor boy, I know...
After a few days, one afteroon while I was on the phone, Darren wanted to play with the push car again. Before I wanted to give him the lecture not to play with it (because Isabel will sure fight for it), he automatically sat on the "undersized giraffe" instead of his push car and rode on it. Of course Isabel followed suit and dashed towards the push car. So happened the push car was behind the laundry basket. Darren then very cool, rode his undersized giraffe over and helped Isabel took out the push car and let her sit on it.
Then you saw a scene that the big kor kor was riding on a small giraffe push car while the small mei mei was sitting on a bigger push car.
Honestly, I felt that my tears suddenly filling up my eyes at that moment. What a boy do I have and what a brother he is to his little sister? He is just 5 years old and he was just so understanding and caring towards his sister. My heart ache after seeing that scene and felt that he should not give in to Isabel.I should not let Isabel fight with him. Of course later I did praise him for being such a good kor kor and he was elated.
You know..every time when they fight for things, automatically we will ask Darren to give it to Isabel since he is a kor kor and Isabel is still small. But now, I don't give in to Isabel so much. I think Darren deserves his things too.
Darren, you are really a good brother. Mommy is so proud of you...

7 days of Chinese New Year 2012
Holiday is over and I am going back to school tomorrow. How I wish the holiday is longer and how I wish I can stay in Melaka and Ipoh longer. I love to be around with people..the more the merrier...Anyway, let's recall what I have done in this 1 week CNY holiday...
21 Jan (Sat)
------------
We were preparing to go back Melaka this day. I was excited. Mommy was busy packing clothes and daddy was busy finishing his work before the holiday starts. I also follow daddy for a hair cut. We dilly dellie and at the end, we left KL around 5pm.
The traffic was good, no jam. We arrived Melaka around 7pm. Just in time for dinner. Grandma cooked yam rice for dinner. Mei mei and I had a good time exploring the big house and spending time with my grandparents.
22 Jan (Sun) - CNY eve

I woke up around 7.45am and went straight out to greet my grandparents. I had breakfast (biscuit and fruit cake) with my grandparents,played a while, then I followed grandpa to a grandaunty house for prayers. I was not shy and did what they asked me to do - sing song, dancing. I spoke to them in Mandarin and they were amazed how well I can speak mandarin nowadays. I can even sing Chinese song. I requested to do the prayer also and followed my grandaunty to say what I should say.
I reached home around noon and only greet my parents. Mei mei just woke up that time. We then had fried yee mee for lunch. Later, daddy wanted to bring us out but I didn't want to follow. I wanted to stay at home. So, daddy, mommy and mei mei went out shopping without me. I was at home playing computer, cycling around the big compound, follow grandpa do his work, running here and there. Grandpa then asked me to sleep but I just could not sleep.
In the evening, mei mei and I enjoyed ourselves in grandpa's garden.
Then, we had our reunion dinner at night. Wow....a lot of food...grandma cooked around 8 dishes and we were so full eating so much.
23 Jan (Mon) - 1st day of CNY

Nothing much happened on that day except we stayed at home whole day enjoying all the good food grandma cooked and playing computers, running in and out, cycling and playing with Enya jie jie and Zhi Kai kor kor.
We were bored and mei mei decided to play with mommy's sunglasses.
Uncle Edwin and family left Melaka in the evening and daddy brought us to his customer's place for open house at night.
It was one of the mansion in Melaka and it was so so so BIG. I never even realised we were already in the house compound. There had a clown there but mei mei was so afriad that she was crying the whole night. We enjoyed ourselves at the garden sitting at a swing. There had fireworks too. Very nice...
24 Jan (Tues) - 2nd day of CNY

I invited Aunty Rani (grandma's Indian neighbour) to our house. Aunty Rani was amazed how caring I am towards her. Again, we had a good lunch. Towards the afternnon, mommy took out some spoon and bowl and let us play water by scoping and pouring. I also requested some ice to put into the water. This activity lasted us a couple of hours.
We left Melaka around 6pm and headed straight to Aunty May's house. It was jam and it took us 3 hour plus to reach Cheras. All our relatives were there and Chloe were so happy seeing me there. We played together. I collected a lot of angpows there. We then left Cheras around 11pm and reached home around 12pm..
25 Jan (Wed) - 3rd day of CNY

Daddy and I woke up around 10+ in the morning. We left for Ipoh after we had our lunch at Old Town Coffee. Mommy was busy packing AGAIN in the morning. The traffic to Ipoh was ok. It took us 2 hour to reach Ipoh, around 3pm.
We then went straight to my gong gong and poh poh house. I played with Kenny piau ker and Jane piau jie. Yi Yi SY and Charlotte jie jie were there too. We then later went to a coffee shop and had our tea time there. Poh poh bought me egg tarts that I love.
We then left to the hotel and checked ourself into this Tower Regency hotel. After washing up and we then headed to a restaurant for dinner. Everyone was there and we had 3 tables full of relatives and kong kong friends. I sat with yi yi SS and Joon Kit piau ker while mommy sat another table.
After the dinner, we then went to yi yi SS house for a little while, then head back to hotel.
26 Jan (Thurs) - 4th day of CNY

We woke up around 9.30am and went for the hotel buffet breakfast. It was lousy. Mommy decided to eat out. However, mei mei starting to throw her tantrums on the way for breakfast and she created so much attention at the coffee shop. She was crying non-stop and kept wanting mommy to sing her ABC. She was too much. Initially mommy wanted to go poh poh's house after breakfast but we cancelled the plan and back to hotel instead. Daddy wanted to punish mei mei. So, we let her cry and cry in the hotel. Mommy also cancelled the lunch appointment with my grandparents too due to mei mei. Finally mei mei fell asleep and daddy/mommy also fell asleep. I also fell asleep. I was busy playing with ipad and daddy's phone while mei mei was making noise in the hotel. I kept asking mommy when are we going to poh poh's house and mommy told me 3pm.
Everyone woke up around 3.30pm and we make plans with yi yi SF and my grandparents to go for tea time at the same coffee shop again. I was so hungry by then and ate so much.
After tea, we then went back to my grand parents house and spend my time there with my cousins and kau fu. yi yi SS is working on this day.
Towards night time, I kept pursuading mommy to send me to yi yi SS's house. Later, daddy sent me there and we all had dinner together at another restaurant. The restaurant was so packed and full of people. We finished our dinner around 11pm.
It was late and daddy wanted to go back hotel but I insisted to go to yi yi SS's house. Luckily mommy suggested that I stayed there and luckily that daddy allowed. SO, I was so happy that I stayed overnight in Yi Yi SS's house while daddy, mommy and mei mei went back to hotel.
27 Jan (Fri) - 5th day of CNY

I wore JK piau ker old t-shirt and pants and slept with JQ jie jie. I woke up early next morning and jeong jeong bought "ji cheong fun" for me as breakfast. I then wanted to go over to poh poh's house. Poh poh then came over and fetched me.
I then followed them and later met up with my parents at a coffee shop for breakfast again. We then left poh poh house aeound 1pm and heading to ah tai's house. I was already very tired and took a short nap in the car.
I arrived Ah tai's house and played with Goh Cheng Nam. We exchanged our daddy's hp and played games together. Daddy and CN's daddy were sleeping while mommy was busy chatting with poh poh and Aunty PH and Ah Tai. Mei mei was busy playing with CN's di di Cheng Fong.

Poh Poh also let me eat some biscuit and keropok. Later we left their house around 5pm. Went to yi yi SF's house and left Ipoh around 6pm. I was hungry, so mommy went to a petrol station and bought me bread. The traffic were heavy on the way back to KL but mei mei and i were super tired and we slept all the way back to KL.
We reached KL around 8.30pm and went to Chow Yang for dinner. We then reached home around 10pm. Everyone was tired except mei mei amd myself. I had problem falling asleep and asked to on the music in order to fall asleep.
28 Jan (Sat) - 6th day of CNY

We all woke up late. We had lunch at Makan-makan. Then, we went back to play a while. Mommy then brought me to opposite poh poh's house for visiting. I then played with Ivan kor kor and Ivy mei mei. Mommy was busy chatting with poh poh and aunty. Mei mei was having nap at home. Daddy was busy doing work, then went for gym.
When we wanted to go home, it started raining cats and dogs. We couldn't go home and stucked at poh poh's house. I had a good time playing there. We then went home after the rain stop around 5pm. Half an hour later, mommy brought me to yi yi SY's house for visiting. I played with Brandona and Belicia.
At night we had ABC soup and spiach for dinner. Everyone is sick of meat. We just want simple meal. Daddy supposed to bring us shopping but because we came back late from yi yi SY' house, we cancelled the plan.
Mommy get me to sleep early because one more day and I need to get back to school. However, I still sleep at around 11pm.
29 Jan (Sun) - 7th day of CNY

Today is the 7th dya of CNY and also marked the end of my holiday. We didn't go anywnhere and stayed at home to rest and get ready for school tomorrow.
Time flies and how I wish the holiday is longer, then we can have more fun. Anyway, I had an enjoyable CNY, eating so much junk and drinking so much packet drinks. I hope I can sleep early tonight and wake up early tomorrow morning.
My teached told mommy last Friday - "When school reopen, come to school at 8am." Well..because we always reached school at 8.15am. Ok..mommy said, I need to wake up earlier then...sigh...
Anyway, how was your CNY?

My CNY new clothes
Look at how many new clothes I have for CNY. Mommy thought I did not have a lot but when she started packing, only she realised I have so many..some were collected from last time since it was too big for me by then...I still haven't finished wearing them..anywhere, many of my clothes now are old, so it is a good time to repleshish and refresh my wardrobe...

My doll doll also has new clothes.
Mommy was doing spring cleaning few days back and took out some old clothes from mei mei and my wardrobe. She packed it in a big plastic bag and told me she wants to recycle those clothes.
Immediately I took out a few and decided to let my doll doll wear it. Well, it is Chinese new year and everyone also has new clothes. Of course my doll doll also need some new clothes la.
Look at the amount of soft toys I have on my bed. And look at the "new clothes" I have put up for my doll doll. Angel is wearing the Chinese New Year clothes somemore.
p/s: Yess, though I am a boy, I love playing with doll doll and I sayang them just like I sayang my mei mei.

If you received a sms from my mommy or daddy's handphone, it might not be from them BECAUSE, I can sms like an adult too.
There were a few incidents that people received sms from my daddy or mommy or grandpa's phone and thought it was the owner of the hp that sent it out. But in fact, it was ME who actually sent out the sms.
Situation 1: SMS sent out on 24th December 2011 morning from my mommy's handphone.
A number of recipent replied the message by telling mommy that they are not free to come for the party and mommy was having a hard time explaining to them that we didn't really have a party and the message was not sent by her but by ME. I had my lecture from mommy and refrained me from using her phone for a few days.
Situation 2: SMS sent out on 30th December 2011 afternoon from my mommy's handphone.
Daddy smsed mommy to ask mommy shall we utilise the free 1 night stay in The Westin
hotel during the coming long weekend. I checked the sms and conveyed the message to mommy and mommy replied to me,
"I think we shouldn't go because mei mei is having running nose. Then, she won't be able to play at the swimming pool. Anyway, replied daddy and tell him that mei mei is having running nose and she will not be able to swim in the hotel."
Mommy's intention was to let daddy make the decision whether to carry on or go some other day when mei mei is feeling better. Then we all can swim together.
I then immediately replied the sms and later daddy replied back "OK".
After a while, mommy checked back her in and outbox and found this.
Daddy actually thought it was mommy who sent out the sms and thought mommy agreed to go for the hotel stay but will leave Isabel out for the swimming and DArren can go swimming with daddy.
I am smart, ain't I?
Situation 3: SMS from my grandpa handphone to yi yi SS's handphone.
I smsed my yi yi SS from my grandpa's handphone. The message typed was something like this,
"Hi Darling, how are you? I miss you and I love you too."
Yi yi SS received this sms and the sender was one of the contact names listed in yi yi SS's address book - Elson. Yi Yi SS couldn't recall who is Elson and she was shocked that how come "Elson" smsed her and somemore called her "Darling". She dare not replied the sms and tried recalling who is Elson. She told us he must be someone she knows, or else, the name would not be in her address book. But how come the "Elson" will send such sms to her. Until...until I called her and asked did she receive the sms, only the reality is revealed.
hahahaha....this is really funny and everyone said that luckily my cheong cheong did not see the message, or else, he must be thinking who is this man who called her wife "Darling" and sent such sms to her.
Actually I am Darling to a lot of people (especially my yi yis). Sometimes, I used daddy's phone to send out the sms and my yi yis dare not replied the sms by calling me "darling" coz they are afraid mommy suddenly saw the message and thought how come they called daddy "darling". Hahahaha...
This "darling" examples occurred a few times from daddy's handphone. Initially I was puzzled how come my yi yi called my name instead of calling me darling in the sms from daddy's hp and I even replied her and typed to her,
"Call me darling."
Now, everyone is reminding me that I must sign off my name at the end of the sms. I will try to do if I can remember.

Daddy smsed mommy to ask mommy shall we utilise the free 1 night stay in The Westin
hotel during the coming long weekend. I checked the sms and conveyed the message to mommy and mommy replied to me,
"I think we shouldn't go because mei mei is having running nose. Then, she won't be able to play at the swimming pool. Anyway, replied daddy and tell him that mei mei is having running nose and she will not be able to swim in the hotel."
Mommy's intention was to let daddy make the decision whether to carry on or go some other day when mei mei is feeling better. Then we all can swim together.
I then immediately replied the sms and later daddy replied back "OK".
After a while, mommy checked back her in and outbox and found this.
Daddy actually thought it was mommy who sent out the sms and thought mommy agreed to go for the hotel stay but will leave Isabel out for the swimming and DArren can go swimming with daddy.
I am smart, ain't I?
Situation 3: SMS from my grandpa handphone to yi yi SS's handphone.
I smsed my yi yi SS from my grandpa's handphone. The message typed was something like this,
"Hi Darling, how are you? I miss you and I love you too."
Yi yi SS received this sms and the sender was one of the contact names listed in yi yi SS's address book - Elson. Yi Yi SS couldn't recall who is Elson and she was shocked that how come "Elson" smsed her and somemore called her "Darling". She dare not replied the sms and tried recalling who is Elson. She told us he must be someone she knows, or else, the name would not be in her address book. But how come the "Elson" will send such sms to her. Until...until I called her and asked did she receive the sms, only the reality is revealed.
hahahaha....this is really funny and everyone said that luckily my cheong cheong did not see the message, or else, he must be thinking who is this man who called her wife "Darling" and sent such sms to her.
Actually I am Darling to a lot of people (especially my yi yis). Sometimes, I used daddy's phone to send out the sms and my yi yis dare not replied the sms by calling me "darling" coz they are afraid mommy suddenly saw the message and thought how come they called daddy "darling". Hahahaha...
This "darling" examples occurred a few times from daddy's handphone. Initially I was puzzled how come my yi yi called my name instead of calling me darling in the sms from daddy's hp and I even replied her and typed to her,
"Call me darling."
Now, everyone is reminding me that I must sign off my name at the end of the sms. I will try to do if I can remember.

Sending Chinese New Year Card
Today mommy brought me to Post Office to send out the Chinese New Year card to 10 selected relatives of ours.
Daddy told me last week that he has been sending CNY card to his relatives every year since very young. So, I should start to do that too since I can write. Somehow physical card is better than electronic one, though nowadays not many people sending physical greetings card out.
Mommy brought me to Carefour last Friday to buy the card. I wrote all the messages in all cards on Sunday and today we sent it out. It was so much work and effort to write all the messages in the card. 10 cards, you know...THe first card I wrote to was to yi yi SS and mommy said it was so messy and untidy (not a straight line). Later, mommy drew the line for me and I wrote on top of the line. It was much better. I was so tired writing all the messages and it was no fun at the end of the day.
Mommy get me to queue up at the counter to buy the stamps. Wow..nowadays it costs RM0.50 to send out a greeting card. The counter Malay lady found me so cute and asked me how old I am and talked to me.
THen, we pasted the stamp and I put it in the post box. I think they will receive it by now.

Movie - Alvin and the Chipmunks 3
Today daddy brought us to Pavilion for shopping and movie. Daddy asked me whether I want to watch movie, of course I said want la. So after some shopping and lunch at 3pm, we headed to the cinema and bought the ticket showing at 4.15pm for the show

I enjoyed the popcorn and coke and of course I enjoyed the movie the most. I was laughing at some part and I just like the chipmunks.
I was very sleepy after the show and slept about 1+hr in the stroller. Daddy said he will bring us to watch "Madasgascar" next time, since mei mei also behaved very well.

My fear - the "rambutan" rubberise yo-yo..
I am afraid of this - a rubberise yoyo that has lights inside when you bounced it and it looks like a rambutan..
I never want to touch it and don't you ever try to put the thing near me. I would scream and runaway..
Though we have seen this many times years ago, I am still afraid of it until today..
Mei mei has one of this and she is not afraid of it. But she has lost it quite some time.
Last night when I get into daddy's car, I saw that "thing" at the backseat. Immediately I dare not go in. But mei mei was excited to find it and immediately grab it.
No choice, daddy forced me to get into the car. I sat very near to the door and refuse to go near mei mei.
I told mei mei..
"Isabel, no need to share ok? Kor kor don't want it..don't share, ok?"
Mommy was laughing when she heard that. Mommy told me, "Isabel will not want to share with you. She likes it so much. You don't need to be so afraid."
Mommy and daddy tried to convince me that it is nothing and just like rubber band. Later I tried to touch and hold it..and I am less afraid of the thing now.

We always teach the children to share and when they are fighting for a toy, the word that they will say is "Share..share.." I was surprised and found it funny when Darren asked Isabel "not to share" the thing. Can imagine how frighten he was at that moment. It was so funny to see him squeezing himself at the side of the car door and making sure Isabel will not throw the thing to him..hahaha....my coward boy,,

School reopen
Mommy said I am 6 years old this year, big boy already. I asked mommy, "I am 6 years old already. Big boy hor? So can I buy a handphone?" Me and the handphone...
Anyway, my school reopened last Wednesday and it was the orientation week. So we finished school at 10.30am. This week will be back to normal.
This year my class is Hibiscus 6 (I was in Daisy 4 and Daisy 5 last 2 years). My teacher is Teacher Yong (杨老师). Since mommy registered me to chinese school next year, mommy requested me to be put under her class. She is one of the "longest" & exxperienced teacher in the school. I like her too as she taught me chinese last year. Mommy said this year the teacher to talk to us more in Chinese and most subjects will be conducted in Chinese, in preparation for me to enter chinese school next year.
So sad to say that I am not same class with my cousin, Chloe this year. She is in Sunflower 6. I miss playing with her. I didn't feel anything the first day. But the 2nd day, I started feeling a bit down and kept pursuading mommy to bring me to Boh Poh house to play with Chloe. I think she missed me too and kept asking me to go over her house, if not, she wants to come to our house and play with me. Mommy said we are like "lovers" being separated. So far, only 3 friends from my previous class are in the same class with me this year. The rest are being separated to different class.
So far I have not been too late to school. I have been sleeping around 10pm, today we tried slightly earlier - 9.45pm. I woke up around 7.50am and reached home around 8.15am. I am very tired every night and dozed off in less than 5 mins. Mommy is quite happy with my sleeping time and she thinks we can improve somemore and be more punctual to school.
